Iona Rowland is a multi-disciplinary artist working at the intersection of painting and printmaking.
HER pop culture-inspired, SITE SPECIFIC ARTWORKS comprise layers of resampled imagery, screen-prints, spray paint, improvised brush strokes and squeegee marks which overlap and converge to create new, multidimensional narratives.
PUBLIC ARTWORKS are often co-produced with local communIties and encourage live participation.

Ariadne series auctioned at Worldpay’s 250 Charity Gala ‘championing young potential’. The event was held at the ICC in Birmingham and raised £50,000 to support young people aged 11-30 expand their skills and access job opportunities.

IONA ROWLAND
Iona Rowland was born in Derby in 1990 and studied Fine Art at Kingston University from 2010-2013. Since graduating, she has exhibited widely across the UK in both solo and group shows. Key exhibitions include Indelible Traces at Nolias Gallery, London; MMNTM at Bohunk Institute, Nottingham; Regram at Slate London; A Futuristic Woman at Square Gallery, London; ING Discerning Eye and the Derwent Art Prize, both at London’s Mall Galleries. HER SOLO EXHIBITION, CITY GIRL, WAS SHOWN AT SOHO’S CENTURY CLUB, AND LATTERLY AT THE LAKES BY YOO IN THE COTSWOLDS.
Creating artwork for the public realm continues to be at the core of her practice and Iona has delivered major commissions for The Shaftesbury estate; UMBRO AND the Handel & Hendrix Museum in Mayfair. her work is held in private collections across the world, including LDC - THE PRIVATE EQUITY ARM OF LLOYDS’ BANKING GROUP.
